Paper Cut
2007
Envelopes and staples
In Paper Cut envelopes are used as modular units that are linked together to create a trio of geodesic spheres. Paper Cut cross-references everyday commerce with utopian architecture. It is the continuation of a project in which the artist has altered and reworked ordinary bank envelopes by cutting detailed patterns into their printed security patterns. Once used to protect and conceal the envelopes are now opened up to reveal the intricate patterns found inside.
